Would the backwash or wastewater from a saltwater pool harm plants flooded by that water?

Probably, because first of all flooding the plants will typically kill them, and high concentrations of salt will kill just about anything. Plants also typicaly have a tough time trying to metabolize the salt. However there are some plants that can survive high salt water climates.

Yes it could harm your plants. However salt is very soluble and can be easily washed away by flooding the area a few times.
