pros and cons of centralised facilities(1 main plant where all waste goes to) vs individual facilities(each section of plant has own waste treatment plant)

I am not an English speaker so I am very confused with the phrase.
Can anyone help explain this sentence?

hey, I just bought some new plants and some seachem flourish. I’m going the low tech route so I need to know if I have to take out my filter media. I have an eclipse 12 system and I didn’t get rid of/modify anything. I heard that the carbon in the filter needs to be taken out so the fertilizer will actually work, but I just need to know if its a necessity. I’d rather not have the flourish go to waste. Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have recently purchased a 200L aquarium tank for my living room and before I set it up want to make sure I have all the correct parts.
The main item I am looking for is a External Filter unit, im fairly confident what size I would need for this size tank (but any comments on this would be helpful also!!) but I dont want to pay some of the ridiculously high prices I have seen for the brand names.
Does anyone know of anywhere I can purchase a reasonably priced filter but also other equipment I might need so I don’t need to go to different sites to purchase it all?
thanks in advance

After pan roasting a turkey, what’s your most effective way of removing the oil/grease that seems to accumulate in the drippings, before making gravy?
I’ve tried all the various "gimmicks"..the oil separator which resembles a measuring cup with a"spout," using a slice of potato (though I believe that’s a "remedy for excessive salt removal), ice, flash chilling it then "skimming" it, using a baster and TRYING to remove the top layer of oil/grease.
I don’t mind a little of the oil/grease though would like to remove the majority easily.
Any viable suggestion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone out there could help me with picking a good filtration system for my 55G aquarium. Right now it is empty but I am getting ready to cycle it. I plan on having a few small driftwood logs and branches, flat and square river rocks for more caves, a pretty thick planting of aquatic plants, and 10+ small tropical community fish. So…with all of that, what would be a good filter for an aquarium with all of this. Would a hang on filter do any good with all of this stuff in there? And what is a good way to clean the gravel with all of these obsticles?
Thanks in advance!
