I’m so excited- I found a fantastic 2 gallon fish bowl for my betta! I got it, and can’t wait to get him in it and out of his way-too-small tank I got when I bought him (it was about half a gallon, and while he has done extremely well I’m sure he’ll greatly enjoy the larger room).
Anyways, while I’m on this buying spree I’m excited to learn more about keeping a fish tank. Any useful equipment you’d suggest for a 2 gallon bowl with a wide brim would be very much so appreciated, as well as info for use and maintenance. Mainly I’m thinking of a filtration system. Currently I clean his tank every 3 days, and will probably make that every 4 when he’s transfered to the new tank. I’m hoping a filter would make that even less, but really would appreciate your opinions.
Lastly, question about a cover for his bowl. Virgil’s old tank came with a cover (it was one of those small mammal containers you can get at petsmart, so had ‘air holes’ on top) and thus I’ve never learned whether or not he’s a jumper. Are betta’s a jump risk? If they are, are there any ideas on how to jerryrig a not too unattractive lid for the bowl?
Thanks to whoever read through my rambling questions!
