SVO conversion for collection/filtering on the road?

Im looking to convert a Van or small RV to run on straight vegetable oil. What sort of setup will I need for running/collecting waste veggie oil "on the road"? I know its nearly impossible for the oil to settle while on the move. Will I need a centrifuge filtration system on-board to separate out the water and filter down the oil? I know greasecar sells a "on-board" filter kit seen at http://www.greasecar.com/product_detail.cfm?prodID=9 but does that separate out the water as well?

Questions about a 20 Gallon Fish Tank?

For those of you who answered my questions about my 6 gallon tank. I did what you said. I went in Petco and traded in my 6 gallon for a 20gallon. They had a deal going on and it wasn’t much more expensive. Well worth it. Anyways. The guy there said that I need to keep about 10-20 goldfish in there to get the bacteria to cycle through the filtration system in order to get the pH levels at their appropriate levels and make it have enough, I guess, "livability" for the tropical fish I want. Any of you who messaged me before have any questions? Or any other help would be good.

These are some other questions:

What things do I need to check in my water?
What OTHER equipment will I need? (i.e. tester kit)
What cool fish do you recommend for beginners?

Thanks for the help!

I was just reading a article on air quality in my home town.?

Now obviously there are many factors in the sources of pollution. In my towns case a huge factor is local mills, wood treatment plants, and an oil refinery. Each one of these places has giant smoke stacks that at times put out so much smoke that it is hard to tell the difference between a cloudy day and a full scale mill running day (seriously). There are all kinds of health and respiratory problems that come as a a result of living with this.
My question is, does there exist some sort of filtration system that can be put on these massively polluting chemical smoke stacks that can at least reduce the amount of toxins in the air. In this modern day and age of super technologies there has to be a way to filter harmful emmisions such as these.

Saltwater fish tank?

I have a 12 gallon salt water fish tank for about a year not and I can keep everything in the norm for chemicals. I think its time to advance to something bigger. I was given a 46 gallon bow front all glass brand new tank w/ the standard halogen bulb hood so I need to buy it all, a filtration system im thinking canister, larger protein skimmer, overflow system, w/o drilling holes, light bulb what size and type? My small tank has only 2 damsels, a chocolate chip starfish, and 2 hermit crabs. But I want to go to a mini reef style. Live rock, and coral; hard and soft, annonime, fish invertebrate, im willing to take a year or 2 to do it right but im not sure on what type of equipment to buy. Now im not looking to spent 2 grand on getting it up and running

A second thing where is the best place to buy this stuff. EBay local store, and live rock one big piece lots of small ones? What else can I use to replicate live rock and give to look that is in a traditional mini reef system?

What should I get for my new betta tank/ lid for a betta tank?

I’m so excited- I found a fantastic 2 gallon fish bowl for my betta! I got it, and can’t wait to get him in it and out of his way-too-small tank I got when I bought him (it was about half a gallon, and while he has done extremely well I’m sure he’ll greatly enjoy the larger room).

Anyways, while I’m on this buying spree I’m excited to learn more about keeping a fish tank. Any useful equipment you’d suggest for a 2 gallon bowl with a wide brim would be very much so appreciated, as well as info for use and maintenance. Mainly I’m thinking of a filtration system. Currently I clean his tank every 3 days, and will probably make that every 4 when he’s transfered to the new tank. I’m hoping a filter would make that even less, but really would appreciate your opinions.

Lastly, question about a cover for his bowl. Virgil’s old tank came with a cover (it was one of those small mammal containers you can get at petsmart, so had ‘air holes’ on top) and thus I’ve never learned whether or not he’s a jumper. Are betta’s a jump risk? If they are, are there any ideas on how to jerryrig a not too unattractive lid for the bowl?

Thanks to whoever read through my rambling questions!

step by step aquarium cleaning?

Okay I have done a lot of reading and can’t seem to figure out exactly how often and how to clean the aquarium. Let’s start at the top. I have a 20 gallon aquarium with 10 fish + 2 bottom feeders. It has a mechanical and chemical filtration system. The fish all seem happy and comfortable barring a few fights and 2 casualties. I understanding preserving the old water is critical but I am unsure about exactly how to clean. I dont have any cleaning equipment. Just 2 large buckets and a holding tank for the fish while I am cleaning. Logically, what I would do is tank out half the old water, put the fish in it, throw the rest, rinse everything in freshwater (no soap) and replace with fresh water after cleaning out the filter and accessories. I know this is not correct so I am hoping someone can help guide me through it with the equipment i have.

Where is this available?

I recently saw a website that showed vegetable oil being used as diesel fuel. It will cost about .95 a gallon and you get the exact power, mileage everything with it also. You can also have a home filtration system and you can filter the oil yourself, and you can get the oil at some restuarant or something that is trying to get rid of used oil and it will be free most likely because the restuarant doesn’t have to pay a fee to get the oil disposed of. I think this is a GENIUS IDEA and for sure if its available in my area im getting a diesel truck Immediately. What do you think of this?
