Do I need to use filters in my return grilles if I have a media filter at the front of my a/c unit?

I had a media filter installed, it is connected to my a/c unit. The return grilles are before the media filter. do i need to put filters in the return grilles. I thought maybe I don’t need them since the media filter is after the return grille filters.

Aquarium External Filtration help?

Hi, I have recently purchased a 200L aquarium tank for my living room and before I set it up want to make sure I have all the correct parts.

The main item I am looking for is a External Filter unit, im fairly confident what size I would need for this size tank (but any comments on this would be helpful also!!) but I dont want to pay some of the ridiculously high prices I have seen for the brand names.

Does anyone know of anywhere I can purchase a reasonably priced filter but also other equipment I might need so I don’t need to go to different sites to purchase it all?

thanks in advance

What kind of materials can be discharged at a permitted wastewater discharge point?

There is a gas company on the shore of the Hudson River. They have a wastewater discharge permit. But today when I was walking nearby I saw big bubbles of some type of gasoline-like substance coming up from the river bed to the surface every several seconds.

Should I report this to someone? Or would gasoline-like substances be permitted under a wastewater discharge permit? I went on the EPA’s web site and found the facility, but the jargon made no sense to me and I could not make heads or tails of it. Thanks
This facility is in an area where not a lot of people walk. I was by myself and there was no one nearby to ask. The facility itself is off-limits to the public. And this is not for a class; I am not a student. I am a concerned citizen. So I am not sure where the suggestion to ask my teacher came from.

I can’t download their permit and even if I could I don’t know who would look at it. I looked up the information on the EPA site about the facility but it just doesn’t make sense to me. I understand all the words, but I don’t understand them in context and the jargon of the EPA.

Can i put some filter media in my power filter even though there is no designated place to put it?

I have a hang on 10 gallon power filter. The media in it right now is carbon and some black mesh type of media. I thought i could buy this

http://www.petco.com/product/102413/Hagen-Fluval-Biomax-Filter-Media.aspx

and put sqeeze it somewhere in the filter area. I just want the "good" bacteria to have more places to live. Would this work?

There is an oily-looking stain in the kitchen sink of a house that I am interested in purchasing…?

The stain looks like an oil slick in a parking lot. The water didn’t smell or taste funny. There was a huge water filtration system (like 6 ft. tall) but I don’t think it was on.

Does anybody know what would cause this?

And will the filtration system fix the water?
Thank you for the comet message. Thanks for the chuckle.

But I am more curious about the water rather than the sink.
Once again, thanks for the cleaning suggestion… I should be good in that department.
